TO ALL WHO COME TO THIS HAPPY PLACE…WELCOME!
We are a family of four sisters and our mom who are fans of all things Disney and affectionately call ourselves the MouseWives. Though we girls have talked about starting this blog for several years now, in the words of Walt Disney himself, “The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing!” We hope you’ll join us in our magical adventures as everyday American MouseWives!
I’m Tammy, mom of the four wives who write this blog. I’m MouseWife to a fellow Disney-lover, who clinched the marriage deal with his response of “just being there” when asked what he most likes about Disney. (He gets it.) Disney magic has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a child I ate breakfast on a Pinocchio place mat, wore a Tinkerbell watch, and treasured the Disney magazine I got as a freebie when my dad filled up with gas (a treasure I still have, by the way!). And seeing Tinkerbell fly out of the castle—well, that was real magic! I guess it is not surprising that I would share my love of Disney with my daughters, each of whom had her own first visit to Disney at just a few months old. Between vacations and the girls’ involvement in the Disney College Program, the route from home in Pennsylvania to Disney World has become a well-worn path. . I am a Reading professor at a small university, where I am often asked, “Are you going to Disney this weekend?” The response is always, “Yes!” or “I wish!” Weird as it may sound, I love to take my Kindle into a park, find a bench in the midst of the crowd, and enjoy a good book, often one about some aspect of Disney. I will be sharing some of the Disney-related books that let me enjoy the magic in between trips and help me to experience Disney in a way that’s just a little new and different.
Hello there! I’m practically perfect in every way!…oh wait, I mean…My name is Sarah and I’m the oldest sister who channels her inner “Mary Poppins” at every chance I get. I am a huge Disney fanatic and the only sister who did not have the fabulously magical chance to work at Disney in their college program (though I do plan to retire and work there someday!) I am the resident expert-though-currently-non-official Disney travel agent of the group and I enjoy the planning of a Disney vacation almost as much as the trip itself! I am an expert in all things frugal Disney (Yes! Those two words CAN go together!) and last year my husband spoiled me with a Disney cruise which now has me “hooked” on Disney Cruise Line!
A’hoy! My name is Heather. I am a MouseWife to a Disney convert and mom of a Disney-loving toddler. I am also a former cast member of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, Former Disney Campus Representative and Recruiter, & a Disney College Program Alumni (DCP).Currently, I am a stay-at-home-mom. Yes, that’s right. It is the only job, aside from working for the mouse himself, where my son and I can incorporate Disney magic into our everyday life. It’s a great gig. So batten down the hatches, mateys. We’re ready to set sail.
Jambo! My name is Erin. I am a former Cast Member in Quick Food and Beverage in Disney’s Animal Kingdom and have developed a special talent for all things Disney D.I.Y. My goal is to show you simple, easy, and affordable D.I.Y. projects that can make your home or special event just a little more magical. Oh, and I am also like a fairy godmother to my niece and nephew. So stay tuned for some great D.I.Y tips and pixie dust kid tricks!
Hi there! My name is Elysabethe. Disney has always been a major part of my life for as long as I can remember. My Disney dreams came true when I had the opportunity to participate in The Disney College Program during the spring of 2013. I am currently workings as a freelance writer and photographer and am happily ever after married to my prince charming. My goal for this blog is not only to have the opportunity to creatively collaborate with my sisters and mother, but also to share my passion for photographing Disney and adding a bit of magic to everyday life. My favorite Disney Park is Epcot, although DAK will always hold a special place in my heart. I have an unhealthy obsession with Disney Popcorn (that smell gets me every time!), and am not too ashamed to admit that the Celebrate the Magic show in The Magic Kingdom makes me tear up every time!
