Pre-Trip Report: The Happiest Family Reunion That Ever Sailed! MouseWives Family Trip 2016

By: Elysabethe

mousewives castle.jpgWe’re going home! The Countdown begins to the happiest family reunion that ever sailed.

Hi ya folks! My name is Elysabethe (pronounced just like Elizabeth) and I am 24 years old. I am mildly obsessed with all things Disney. Okay, very obsessed, and proud of it. After being a longtime reader of trip reports I am finally writing my very first report, only I will be joined by my three sisters and our mother. Together we make up The Mousewives! Don’t worry, we will put author’s names at the top of each report so you know who is writing. We thought this would be fun because you can get multiple perspectives throughout the trip report. Throughout the next couple of months, the others will write introductions and we will post a couple of updates here and there. We may also incorporate some video once we are on our trip. We’ll see how ambitious we get. So, without further ado, my little family’s introduction!

I will go first since I think I’m the most impatient to start the trip!

Like I said above my name is Elysabethe. I have been to Disney far too many times to count, but still not enough. I participated in the Disney College Program during the Spring of 2013 working entertainment (photopass photographer) in Animal Kingdom. I stayed seasonal with Disney until I graduated college in summer of 2014. This will be my first trip in a very long time where I do not get to take advantage of Cast Member discounts. This is also the first time my husband and I will be paying for the trip and booking it all by ourselves. We’re real adults now!

A little bit about me…

My favorite park: Epcot, although Animal Kingdom will always hold a special place in my heart.

Character: Goofy, Pluto, and Cinderella

Restaurant: Trails End, Olivia’s

Resort: Polynesian. I have yet to stay here, but it looks magical!

Ride: Carousel of Progress and Expedition Everest

Food: Popcorn and any mac and cheese shaped like Mickey

Movie: A Goofy Movie, Cinderella, Snow Ball Express, 101 Dalmations

Music: All of the songs from The Jungle Book and Cinderella. I also like music from Main Street U.S.A and Epcot’s loop music, and the music loop that used to play in Camp Minnie Mickey (R.I.P)

And my husband. I am slowly, very slowly, slowly, turning him into a Disney liker. It’s quite the process. I think he secretly likes it more than he lets on because he always enjoys himself when we are there. He used to go to Disney World quite often with his family and visited me twice on my college program. He also surprised me by taking us there on the last two days of our honeymoon. See? I think somewhere deep down inside there is a Disney nerd just itching to get out.

My favorite park: Hollywood Studios (a.k.a MGM still to him)

Character: Does Iron Man count?

Restaurant: Flame tree BBQ

Resort: Polynesian! He’s actually gotten to stay here.

Ride: Rockin’ Roller Coaster

Movie: Iron Man

We will be flying into Orlando International Airport and taking the Magical Express to Pop Century for our 6 night 7 day stay. We will have the dining plan (we choose the option for 2 counter service meals and 1 snack per day) and will be going to one sit down restaurant during our trip. We will also have 6 day park tickets, which are non-park hoppers. By choosing the lower meal plan, non-park hopper tickets, and staying at Pop Century we saved quite a bit of money. I think it will still be a magical vacation even though we are on a budget, however, I’m anxious to see by the end of our trip what we may do differently next trip, what we think is worth splurging on and what is worth saving money on. I will be sure to let you all know our thoughts and will give my advice at the end for any young adults/newlyweds looking to take a trip on a budget without having to sacrifice the magic!

Well, that’s it for my post! Thank you for taking the time to read and share in my excitement! If you’re following along I would love to see comments. One of my sisters or my mother will be posting next. We hope you enjoy being included in our adventure!

See ya real soon and have a magical day!
